Bill Clinton Reportedly Pressed Vanity Fair Over Epstein Allegations

Former President Bill Clinton has reportedly applied pressure to Vanity Fair to dissuade them from publishing allegations related to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, according to newly revealed court documents. Virginia Giuffre, who accused Prince Andrew of misconduct when she was a teenager, discussed selling a photograph of herself with Epstein in a 2011 email exchange with Daily Mail journalist Sharon Churcher.

The New York Post disclosed that Churcher was advising Giuffre on whether to grant an interview and sell the photo to Vanity Fair, as well as assisting her in securing a book deal at the time. These exchanges are among approximately 1,000 legal documents concerning Epstein that have been made public.

In one of the emails, Giuffre expressed concern about what Vanity Fair might write about her, referencing an incident in which “B. Clinton walked into VF and threatened them not to write sex-trafficking articles about his good friend J.E.” It is unclear where Giuffre obtained information about these alleged threats. Graydon Carter, a former editor at Vanity Fair, has vehemently denied such claims, stating, “This categorically did not happen.”

Furthermore, one of the documents from the release identifies Clinton as an individual who “traveled with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and may have information about Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual trafficking conduct.”

A spokesperson for Clinton referred to a 2019 statement in which the former president asserted his lack of knowledge regarding the crimes for which Epstein had pleaded guilty and been accused. The statement also clarified that Clinton had not communicated with Epstein “in well over a decade” and acknowledged that he had taken four trips on Epstein’s plane in 2002 and 2003 as part of his work for the Clinton Foundation.
