Georgia Lt Gov: Judge McAfee ‘Split the Baby’

Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones shared insights with us on Monday regarding the recent ruling by Judge Scott McAfee in the case involving former President Donald Trump’s alleged election interference, overseen by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

In an interview on “National Report,” Jones expressed his thoughts on McAfee’s decision, describing it as a compromise where the judge “split the baby.” He acknowledged that the ruling wasn’t unexpected, characterizing the entire situation as a “circus.”

Reflecting on McAfee’s ruling, Jones noted that the judge likely found some aspects troubling, prompting the requirement for either Willis, special prosecutor Nathan Wade, or both to step down from the case. Jones lamented the ongoing nature of the legal proceedings, expressing disappointment that the matter continues to unfold.

Jones highlighted the efforts of the Georgia state Senate’s Special Committee on Investigations in probing allegations of misconduct against Willis. He emphasized the commitment of Republicans to pursue the matter diligently.

Regarding the case against Trump, Jones suggested that it appears to be faltering and urged Willis to either recuse herself or resign from her position. However, he expressed skepticism about the likelihood of Willis taking such actions.
