Giuliani: Appeals Court Should Reverse $355M Trump Ruling

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani expressed confidence on Monday that the New York Court of Appeals would overturn the $355 million judgment against former President Donald Trump in the civil fraud trial brought by Attorney General Letitia James.

Giuliani, during an appearance on “Wake Up America,” asserted that the highest court in New York should unanimously reverse the judgment. He criticized Judge Arthur Engoron’s handling of the case, accusing him of distorting the Constitution and acting improperly.

“The number bears no relationship to reality,” Giuliani remarked, questioning the basis for the massive fine imposed on Trump and emphasizing that nobody had suffered financial losses attributable to Trump’s actions.

Trump intends to appeal the fine by challenging Engoron’s definition of fraud. The judgment was issued against Trump, The Trump Organization, top executives, and his adult sons after Engoron found them liable for fraud.

Giuliani also weighed in on the election interference case against Trump in Georgia, expressing doubts about the impartiality of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. He criticized Willis for hiring a special prosecutor with whom she had an improper relationship, casting doubt on the prosecutor’s competence and suitability for the case.

“Not if Georgia wants to have a slim hope of being thought of as a state that has a fair justice system,” Giuliani remarked, questioning the prosecutor’s abilities and suitability for such an important case. He highlighted the discomfort he observed in the prosecutor during the grand jury proceedings, raising concerns about the fairness of the process.
