House Slams Biden With Impeachment – Dems Furious

House GOP members are energetically pursuing their probe into accusations of misconduct involving President Joe Biden and his relatives. This effort continues despite President Biden dismissing their decision to begin an official impeachment inquiry on Wednesday as a politically motivated gimmick without substance.

Congressman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, expressed to Newsmax on Wednesday that the impeachment inquiry, which was passed in the House with a 221-212 tally, strengthens the Republicans’ position to challenge the non-cooperation of the Biden administration’s agencies in their investigation. It also bolsters their ability to enforce compliance with subpoenas, particularly from individuals like Hunter Biden, the president’s son.

Comer, who leads the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, said on “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” “Our legal position is significantly bolstered when we seek judicial assistance to ensure compliance with our subpoenas. We’ve made numerous requests for information from different government offices and agencies. Their lack of cooperation has hindered our investigation. Now, with this development, we anticipate faster access to information and quicker deposition of witnesses. This marks a significant step forward in our inquiry.”

However, President Biden, in a White House statement, criticized the House Republicans for prioritizing impeachment over other critical issues. He noted their lack of focus on providing financial support to Ukraine and Israel, addressing the southern border crisis, and averting a government shutdown.

“The American people’s concerns and the security and well-being of our nation and the world are my daily priorities,” said the president. “Regrettably, House Republicans are not working alongside me. Their preoccupation lies in attacking me with unfounded allegations rather than improving the lives of Americans. They are neglecting urgent tasks at hand to engage in this groundless political charade, which even some Republican members of Congress acknowledge lacks factual basis.”

Earlier that day, Hunter Biden, at the heart of the House’s case against his father and family due to his overseas business activities, announced at a Capitol Hill press conference his intention to defy a congressional subpoena and refuse closed-door testimony before the Oversight Committee. He stated he would only appear for public testimony on Wednesday, a request that Comer rejected.

Comer criticized Hunter Biden’s stance, saying, “Hunter Biden has always received preferential treatment. His outright defiance of a congressional subpoena is a display of privilege and arrogance. We’ve seen instances where his father has emphasized the importance of complying with such subpoenas.”

He added that the committee would treat Hunter Biden impartially. “We will handle Hunter Biden as we would any other witness. He plays a crucial role in a significant investigation into high-level public corruption. Our approach in this investigation has been transparent and thorough. We’re now conducting depositions. We issued a lawful subpoena to him, and we expect his appearance before the House Oversight Committee for deposition.”
