IDF Hits Over 300 Targets in Gaza

In a significant military operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted extensive strikes against over 300 sites in the Gaza Strip, significantly impacting Hamas and its facilities. This operation, which involved ground, air, and naval forces, was reported by the IDF on Wednesday.

Key operations included a raid by the 55th Brigade paratroopers on a Hamas base in Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. This raid led to the discovery of a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, including 20 mortar shells. Additionally, in the same area, members of the 7th Armored Brigade conducted house searches of high-ranking Hamas members, uncovering hidden underground systems related to water and electricity.

A notable operation involved soldiers from the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps, who coordinated with the Israeli Air Force to target an armed individual exiting a building with a rocket-propelled grenade.

Furthermore, the IDF also reported the destruction of a rocket launch site by an Israeli Air Force jet. This site was previously used to launch rockets towards Israeli territory. This follows a significant escalation in rocket attacks, including a massive barrage aimed at the Tel Aviv area, marking a peak in hostilities for the first time in a week.

Since the beginning of the conflict in the northwestern Negev on October 7, where heavily armed Hamas gunmen breached the border, there have been over 12,500 rocket attacks on Israel. This initial assault resulted in the death of around 1,200 individuals, predominantly civilians, leaving thousands injured and approximately 240 hostages taken back to Gaza.
