Lauren Boebert Switches Districts for 2024 Race

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has revealed her decision not to seek reelection in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, where she currently serves, opting instead to run in the 4th Congressional District, located on the opposite side of the state.

Colorado’s 4th District, anchored in Douglas County and encompassing areas like Loveland and the state’s rural Eastern Plains, is considered more favorable to Republicans than the 3rd District. An analysis of election results from 2016 to 2020 by nonpartisan experts from the Colorado Legislature staff indicates that the 3rd District leans 9 percentage points in favor of Republicans, whereas the 4th District leans a significant 27 points toward the GOP.

Boebert’s victory in the 3rd District in 2022 was secured by a narrow margin of just 546 votes.

In a Facebook video where she made the announcement, Boebert explained her decision, stating, “I did not arrive at this decision easily. A lot of prayer, a lot of tough conversations, and a lot of perspective convinced me that this is the best way I can continue to fight for Colorado, for the conservative movement, and for my children’s future.”

Furthermore, Boebert mentioned her intention to relocate to the 4th District.

The 4th District’s current representative is Republican Rep. Ken Buck, who has opted not to run for reelection.
