Putin, Xi Reject US ‘Interference’

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone conversation, during which they jointly voiced their opposition to what they termed as U.S. meddling in the internal affairs of other nations, revealed Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov on Thursday.

The leaders affirmed their commitment to establishing “a multipolar, more equitable global order,” as stated by Ushakov. He further noted that Putin and Xi intend to maintain “close personal interaction,” although there are currently no plans for reciprocal visits.

In addition to addressing the situation in Ukraine and the need for conflict resolution in the Middle East, Putin and Xi agreed to sustain bilateral communication, although specific details were not provided, according to Ushakov.

Highlighting the burgeoning trade ties between Russia and China, which exceeded $200 billion last year, Ushakov emphasized that both nations remain steadfast in their determination to pursue joint energy initiatives, notwithstanding the imposition of Western sanctions.
