Rep. Waltz: Hunter’s Dealings National Security Issue

Rep. Mike Waltz, a Republican from Florida, emphasized the national security implications of Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, a topic at the center of House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into alleged corruption involving President Joe Biden and his family. During an appearance on “Eric Bolling The Balance” on Thursday, Waltz highlighted the gravity of the situation.

Waltz pointed out that these business dealings involved countries that are considered some of the United States’ most significant adversaries. He stressed that this issue extends beyond politics or criminal concerns; it also poses a national security risk.

The recent developments include Hunter Biden’s decision to defy a subpoena issued by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, refusing to testify behind closed doors. This occurred on the same day when House Republicans voted 221-212 in favor of initiating a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

Waltz, who is a member of the Oversight Committee, expressed his dissatisfaction with Hunter Biden’s refusal to testify, emphasizing that it ultimately affects the American people represented by Congress. He suggested that there is a substantial amount of information available and that it is their duty to uncover the truth.

Waltz highlighted key questions that need answers, including whether President Biden was involved as a co-conspirator in violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act and whether any policy changes were influenced or affected by payments made. He asserted that the impeachment inquiry would provide a platform for obtaining these answers.
