Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, a Republican, has been discharged from the hospital and is set to resume his duties next week, as confirmed by his office.
Grassley was undergoing treatment with antibiotic infusions at a hospital in Washington, D.C., for an infection, as previously stated by his office on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
At the time of his hospitalization, the 90-year-old senator was reported to be in high spirits.
As the most senior member of the Senate, Grassley has been serving since 1981.
