Sen. Sherrod Brown Raises $6.6M in Fight to Keep His Seat

Senator Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Ohio, has raised $6.6 million in the past quarter for what is anticipated to be the most challenging campaign of his political journey, as reported by Politico.

Brown, who is serving his third term, currently has $14.6 million available for his demanding reelection bid.

“Sherrod Brown is steadfastly representing Ohio while his opponents are competing to be the top self-funders. This is the reason why Sherrod is maintaining momentum in this race,” stated Rachel Petri, his campaign manager.

The Republican primary, featuring candidates such as Secretary of State Frank LaRose, State Senator Matt Dolan, and businessman Bernie Moreno, will determine who Brown faces in the election.

Politico highlighted that both Dolan and Moreno possess the financial means to fund their own campaigns.

Ohio Representative Jim Jordan announced his support on Monday for Moreno, who is also the candidate favored by former President Donald Trump, for the upcoming primary.

Moreno, a successful Cleveland entrepreneur, shared Jordan’s endorsement on the platform X, including a statement from Jordan: “I proudly support former President Trump and Ohio GOP Senator J.D. Vance in endorsing Bernie Moreno for the U.S. Senate.”

With Ohio having supported Trump in the last two presidential elections, Brown is bracing for a formidable challenge to secure victory in the state.
