Shocking Revelations From Trump’s Campaign

The campaign team of former President Donald Trump has strongly criticized Special Counsel Jack Smith’s recent legal maneuver, labeling it as a desperate attempt to override the appeals process. They described Smith as “deranged” for his urgent approach to the Supreme Court concerning Trump’s potential immunity from prosecution.

Smith has urgently requested the Supreme Court to address whether Trump can face prosecution for his actions related to the 2020 election. This move seeks to circumvent the traditional route through the appeals court. Smith’s plea to the SCOTUS emphasized the need for Trump’s trial to proceed quickly if his immunity claim is denied.

The Supreme Court, responding to Smith’s petition, has directed Trump’s legal team to submit their response by December 20. However, the court clarified that this directive to respond does not guarantee that they will take up the case, but rather that they will consider the request swiftly.

A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, prior to the Supreme Court’s directive, issued a statement criticizing Smith. They claimed that Smith, referred to as “Deranged Jack Smith” and “Crooked Joe Biden’s henchman,” is excessively eager to influence the 2024 Presidential Election by attempting to prevent Trump from potentially reclaiming the presidency.

The spokesperson also repeated Trump’s stance that this trial, like others before it, is driven by political motives.

Trump’s legal team has contested the decision of federal Judge Tanya Chutkan, issued on December 1, which stated that Trump could stand trial. They argued that the former president is not entitled to a perpetual “get-out-of-jail-free” card. Moreover, Trump’s attorneys have requested the appellate court to pause Smith’s proceedings while they consider the case, thereby casting doubt on the scheduled start of the trial on March 4.

Trump’s campaign spokesperson asserted that there is no justification for hastening this “sham” trial, except to harm Trump and his supporters. They emphasized that Trump would continue to fight back against these allegations.
