Trump Applauds ‘Loser’ Kimmel’s Late Night Exit Plan

Donald Trump criticized Jimmy Kimmel, labeling him a “loser” in light of the comedian’s hint that he may not renew his contract with “Jimmy Kimmel Live” after it ends. Trump, a regular subject of Kimmel’s barbs on the show, suggested on Truth Social that ABC could hire someone more talented and capable of generating higher ratings for a fraction of Kimmel’s salary.

Kimmel indicated in a Los Angeles Times interview that his ongoing contract, which has over two years remaining, might be his last. The 56-year-old host has often targeted Trump in his comedic commentary, including labeling Trump “mentally ill” after the Parkland school shooting and even joking about Trump’s mortality. Kimmel has acknowledged that his political humor has cost him a significant portion of his fan base, noting that he was once a favorite among Republican viewers.

Celebrating the 21st anniversary of his show, Kimmel is also preparing to host the Academy Awards for the fourth time, underscoring his enduring presence in late-night television despite the controversy surrounding his political jokes.
