Trump: My Admin Would Defend Israel Against Iran

In an exclusive interview with Time magazine, former President Donald Trump expressed his commitment to supporting Israel in defending itself against Iran if he were to be elected for a second term.

Despite advocating for a foreign policy characterized by “transactional isolationism,” Trump emphasized his stance on backing Israel against Iran, stating, “If they attack Israel, yes, we would be there.”

Trump also shared his skepticism about the feasibility of a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, especially following Hamas’ attack and subsequent conflict with Israel in October.

Reflecting on Israel’s response to the situation, Trump urged for decisive action, suggesting that Israel should “get it over with.” He also indirectly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what he perceived as a failure to prevent the attack, remarking, “It happened on his watch.”

Additionally, Trump revealed a strained relationship with Netanyahu, citing a past incident where a joint U.S. operation with Israel targeting a top Iranian general fell through due to Netanyahu’s last-minute withdrawal.

“That was something I never forgot,” Trump remarked to the magazine.
