Trump Shreds ‘Fake Fani Willis Case’: ‘Game Over’

Former President Donald Trump led a barrage of criticism directed at Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis following her contentious testimony in a hearing on Thursday. Trump declared “game over” as reactions poured in, with one lawmaker describing Willis’ testimony as a “historic meltdown.”

At the center of the controversy is Willis’ acknowledged romantic involvement with Nathan Wade, whom she appointed as the lead prosecutor in the criminal case against Trump. Questions have arisen regarding the timeline of Willis’ relationship with Wade, with a witness alleging it began three years earlier than claimed.

A judge is now tasked with determining whether this revelation is sufficient grounds to disqualify Willis and Wade from prosecuting the case.

Trump took to Truth Social to criticize the situation, alleging a coordinated effort with the Biden administration for election interference. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan chimed in, expressing concerns about the misuse of federal funds for the prosecution. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene called for a criminal investigation into Willis, while Representative Andy Biggs proposed legislation to prohibit federal funds from going to Willis’ office.

Amidst the uproar, a CNN columnist suggested that Willis and Wade should step aside from the case. Willis faced intense questioning during the hearing, particularly from defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant. Wade’s admission of a romantic involvement with Willis during his separation from his wife added fuel to the fire.

As the saga continues, Willis is set to return for further questioning on Friday, with Representative Matt Gaetz characterizing her Thursday testimony as a “historic meltdown.”
