Trump Urges Israel to ‘finish Up’ Its Gaza Offensive and Warns about Global Support Fading

Former President Donald Trump stated that he would have responded similarly to Israel’s actions following the attack by Hamas on October 7th. However, he urged Israel to conclude its offensive in Gaza swiftly, cautioning about diminishing international support.

In an interview with Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, Trump emphasized the importance of bringing the conflict to an end and achieving peace. He also highlighted the risk of Israel losing global backing due to the ongoing conflict.

Despite his criticism of President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation, Trump acknowledged the challenges Israel faces in maintaining its public image during the offensive. He suggested that certain actions, such as releasing photos and videos of the offensive, could have negative repercussions on Israel’s international standing.

The Israel Hayom newspaper, known for its close ties to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, provided a transcript of the interview. However, Trump’s remarks regarding Israel’s portrayal in the media were not included in the video footage of the interview.

Trump’s comments come amid tensions within the Israeli government and criticism from various quarters regarding its response to the Hamas attack. The conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life and raised concerns about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Additionally, Trump reiterated his belief that American Jews who support the Democratic Party are misguided, alleging that President Biden’s policies are detrimental to Israel’s interests.
