Fauci to Testify ‘Publicly’ June 3

Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is set to testify before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic on June 3, as announced by Subcommittee Chair Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, on Wednesday.

This hearing marks Fauci’s first public appearance since concluding his role as President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser on December 31, 2022.

According to reports from The Hill, Fauci participated in two closed-door hearings in January, with transcripts of those hearings expected to be released ahead of his June 3 testimony.

Wenstrup highlighted Fauci’s closed-door testimony in January, where Fauci discussed systemic failures within the public health system, including remarks regarding the origins of the “6 feet apart” social distancing guidance, which played a significant role in widespread closures of businesses and schools.

“As the prominent figure in America’s public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fauci’s statements raise pertinent questions that necessitate public examination,” stated Wenstrup.
