Greene’s Alarming Take on This Government’s Scheme

In response to a Wired report revealing a covert government program enabling federal, state, and local law enforcement to scrutinize approximately a trillion American phone records, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia expressed her lack of surprise.

The article from Wired uncovers that the Data Analytical Services (DAS), previously known as Hemisphere, permits government agencies to deeply probe AT&T phone records, often unbeknownst to the individuals being investigated.

Initiated in 2009, the program reportedly saw a temporary halt in funding in 2013 under the Obama administration. It was later reactivated during Donald Trump’s presidency, as per Wired’s findings, but funding ceased again in 2021. However, in the previous year, President Joe Biden renewed efforts to fund the program.

Speaking on “Eric Bolling The Balance,” Greene commented, “It’s regrettably expected from the Biden administration and the federal government as a whole. They’ve been infringing on American rights and eroding civil liberties for quite some time.”

“However, under the Biden administration,” she continued, “there’s been a significant escalation with the use of government power. I’ve been urging my fellow Republicans to confront the administration, particularly over their actions affecting conservatives nationwide.”

Greene highlighted the government’s specific targeting of certain groups and individuals, including conservative activists, January 6 defendants, anti-abortion protesters, parents, former President Trump, among others.

She concluded by describing the current situation as deeply concerning.
