Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton stated on Wednesday that the impact of aging on President Joe Biden is evident, emphasizing that disregarding the president’s decline could have negative consequences for Democrats in the upcoming November elections.
“I’ve known President Biden for many years, and I believe the effects of aging are apparent,” Bolton conveyed on “Newsline.” “It’s a natural process that happens to everyone, and there’s no shame in it. However, from my extensive experience in government, I can attest that the most valuable asset for any administration is the president’s time and attention, which is limited like everyone else’s. If the president is not fully engaged round the clock, it poses potential challenges for the administration.”
Bolton cautioned that Democrats are assuming a political gamble by supporting Biden, who, at 81, holds the title of the oldest-serving U.S. president. “It’s essentially ignoring looming issues, and I believe it puts the nation at risk,” he added.
Commenting on a report from The Jerusalem Post suggesting Iran’s plans for another Oct. 7-style attack during Ramadan, Bolton stressed the significance of taking such reports seriously. “The journalist from The Jerusalem Post, Yonah Jeremy Bob, is highly credible and knowledgeable about Iran,” Bolton remarked. “It aligns with Iran’s typical modus operandi to exploit periods like Ramadan, which may appear religiously significant, for clandestine operations.”
Bolton, who served as National Security Adviser during the Trump administration, expressed skepticism regarding Biden’s motives in brokering a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. “I believe Biden’s motivations are largely political,” he asserted. “The recent Michigan presidential primary results, where ‘uncommitted’ votes on the Democratic side exceeded 100,000, indicate a significant concern about the party’s left wing. This shift within the Democratic Party from a pro-Israel stance to a pro-Palestinian one has prompted Biden’s push for a cease-fire to mitigate internal divisions.”
